Akshar Herbs and Spices is a minority, women-owned business specializing in all natural herbal products sourced from small farmers in Uganda. The company was founded in 2018 by Deviyani Jamindar and Nirali Pandya, who are committed to sustainability, quality, and ethical sourcing while promoting the benefits of natural living.
History
Akshar Herbs and Spices was created by Deviyani Jamindar, a retired officer from the New York Fire Department, and her niece, Nirali Pandya, an experienced auditor of ofarms. Their vision was to deliver high-quality products while supporting Uganda’s small producers. Partnering with local farmers in Uganda, they have formed long-lasting relationships and provided resources and training to enhance agricultural practices.

The mission of Akshar Herbs and Spices is to showcase the richness of Africa, particularly Uganda, by offering top-quality products such as herbal teas, coffee, dried fruits, and spices to consumers worldwide. The company aims to bridge the gap between Ugandan farmers and international markets, especially in the U.S. and Europe. They are committed to promoting healthy living through , GMO-free, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly products that are free from artificial additives or chemicals.
